AER Rule Submission 38-39: New York (N) (2-3; 2.00)

New York (N) submitted and successfully passed the addition of Rules 2.00(Battery) and 2.00(Cross-up) to the Announcers' Ejection Rules. Both proposals passed by a vote of 24-6.

2.00 BATTERY - The mental connection between a pitcher and catcher that prevents the pitcher from possibly throwing a pitch that the catcher did not call for.

2.00 CROSS-UP - A figment of your imagination.

These rules were submitted in response to a call of "Ejection" made by HP Umpire Bob Davidson (61). At the time of the egregious error in umpire conduct, New York (N) was winning 5-3. New York (N) ultimately lost the contest 7-5.
